Frequently Asked Questions
Will my makeup last all day?
Our professional makeup artists and stylists know all the tricks of the trade to set your wedding makeup so it lasts all day, even in the hot summer months. We use setting sprays, powders, blotting papers and water-resistant products, and we provide a touch-up kit to keep you looking fresh.
Why should I hire hair and makeup services as opposed to doing it myself?
Is a bridal makeup trial mandatory?
Trials are mandatory. A trial gives your artist a chance to get to know you and your personal style. They’ll go over important details like your wedding theme, colours, dress style and flowers so they can create the perfect look for your wedding. A trial is also a great way to explore different looks, assess your skin type and make recommendations to ensure your skin looks flawless for your wedding day.
How can I book your services?
To secure your artist(s) for your requested date, we require you to sign our contract and make a deposit of 50% of the total service. The trial balance is due at the time of your trial appointment, and the rest of the balance is due 7 days before your event.
Can I choose my own artist?
Absolutely! You may request your preferred artist and we will do our best to book them for you based on their availability. Learn more about our artists!
When is an Additional Artist Needed?
We want to ensure we are sending our artist out for an appropriate amount of services. We want to ensure all artist are receiving at least 4-5 services. If you are having 8 or more of per service, we would be more then happy to add an additional artist to ensure the timeline is not too long!
Do you offer airbrush bridal makeup?
Airbrush makeup is available upon request for an additional. These services require an airbrush specialist, so be sure to request their services at booking. Airbrush is highly recommended for anyone with larger pores and textured skin. Airbrushing creates a new layer on the skin to make you look porcelain! It helps with longevity as well.
How do you keep your tools and products clean?
Hygiene is extremely important to us, and we ensure all of our tools have been thoroughly cleaned before using them. We use disposable mascara wands and palettes instead of applying products directly out of their containers. We sanitize all of our tools between clients using professional-grade, anti-bacterial brush cleaner and sprayed with 70% alcohol to ensure they are throughly cleaned.
All artists on the team are required to complete a "Advance Hygiene, Sanitation & Infectious Disease Prevention & Control for Makeup Artists Course" to represent PearlGirlMakeup. This is an in-depth course on how to perform amazing services to you while being very hygienic!
Do you have experience with hair extensions?
Yes! Please let us know if you plan on using hair extensions! We highly suggest bringing them to the trial so we can make suggestions if needed. Hair extensions are great for these reasons...
- Great to add more volume
- Add instant length
- Any hairstyle is possible. If you dream of having a thick, full bun but not enough hair to show for it? Or would you love some beautiful curls but your hair does not hold one well, extensions will give you that extra boost!
- They last for the honeymoon... and must longer! Extensions can be worn for months on end!
- They cause zero damage to your luscious locks!
Can you stay for touch ups?
Yes, this is an amazing additional service you can add to your day-of services! This is a great time to touchup after the ceremony, and be freshened up for photos, or before your reception to change up your look! Everyone who needs touch ups will be powdered, fix any part of the hairstyle if needed and lip touch up. The bride has the option to change her hairstyle or makeup look!
